This year marks a major milestone for PCS Legal as we celebrate 20 years of supporting people through one of the most significant decisions of their lives… moving home.

For many people, buying a home is the largest financial commitment they will ever make. Whether you are a first-time buyer, purchasing through a shared ownership scheme, or moving home, having an experienced conveyancing solicitor can make the process smoother and more secure.

What began in 2006, when Stuart Forsdike opened our first office at The Essex Enterprise Centre in Basildon, was a small but ambitious conveyancing practice. Today, PCS Legal is a regional firm with nationwide reach, over 200 dedicated staff members, seven offices, and a reputation built on service, innovation and trust.

This year is not just a celebration of longevity. It is a celebration of growth, resilience and the thousands of clients who have trusted us with their move.

From 2006 To 2026 – How Far We Have Come

In 2006, conveyancing looked very different. Files were paper-based, identity checks were done in person, and progress often depended on post arriving on time. Since then, regulation has intensified, technology has transformed the process, and client expectations have rightly evolved. PCS Legal has grown alongside those changes.

Over the past 20 years, our vision has turned into measurable growth. We have:

• Expanded from a single office to seven locations, including our most recent opening in Frinton-on-Sea

• Grown our team to over 200 staff members, up from 139 the year before

• Supported thousands of first-time buyers every year – 4,458 in 2025 alone

• Handled 26,000+ enquiries in 2025 alone, reflecting continued demand for our services

• Increased our customer satisfaction score to 98%

• Achieved over 1,000 positive reviews in the last year

• Built a referral-led business where 88% of new work now comes from recommendation

• Onboarded more than 17,000 clients via MovinMe, with client sign-ins doubling year on year to over 106,000

• Broken internal records along the way, including opening 2,091 new matters in a single month and achieving 1,421 completions in one month

Built On Experience

Behind every number is a person, a family, a business, and a move that mattered.

One of our proudest achievements is not just growth, but stability. Fifty members of our team now have more than five years of service with PCS Legal. In a sector often challenged by staff turnover, that continuity matters. Conveyancing demands judgement, technical depth and calm decision-making under pressure – that is why experience is essential.

As we often say internally, no move is ever truly “straightforward”, but after two decades, very few surprises catch us out.

More Than Just Conveyancing

Conveyancing may not always make headlines, but it underpins the biggest financial transaction most people will ever make. When it works well, it feels seamless. When it does not, the consequences can affect plans, finances and future opportunities.

For 20 years, our focus has been on doing the fundamentals properly, communicating clearly, investing in technology and taking responsibility for the details that can make or break a move.

That commitment has led to innovation too. In 2024, we launched our own case management system, MovinMe, designed to enhance transparency and engagement throughout the moving process. Client interaction on the platform has already more than doubled in a year – a reflection of our investment in modern, efficient service delivery.

Celebrating Our 20th Year

As well as reflecting on past achievements, our 20th anniversary is about celebrating with our colleagues, clients, partners and the communities we serve.

To mark this milestone year, PCS Legal has set a goal of raising £20,000 in aid of our long-standing charity partner, Papworth Trust, supporting their work helping people with disabilities and long-term health conditions live independent lives.

Throughout 2026 we will also be celebrating with:

• Our biggest anniversary celebrations yet in October, marking exactly 20 years since PCS Legal was founded

• A special summer birthday party for our staff, recognising the people who have helped build the firm over the past two decades

• Our 20th annual Christmas party and staff awards, celebrating the achievements of our colleagues across all seven offices

• A series of fundraising and community events in support of Papworth Trust

These celebrations are not just about marking 20 years of business – they are about recognising the people who have supported PCS Legal along the way.
