OUR PLEDGE TO RAISE £10K FOR PAPWORTH TRUST

We are proudly announcing our ambitious fundraising goal of £10,000 in 2024 to commemorate a decade of partnership with The Papworth Trust. Stuart Forsdike, our Founding Partner, shared his passion for the cause and highlighted the firm’s dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

In 2014, Stuart Forsdike made the decision to align PCS Legal with The Papworth Trust as its charity partner. The choice was driven not only by his passion for the trust’s mission but also by the commitment that 100% of the funds raised directly benefit the charity. The funds specifically support the Papworth Basildon Centre, located close to our head office.

Over the past nine years, we have actively participated in various fundraising initiatives, including marathons, cycle rides, golf days, and staff events, raising valuable funds for The Papworth Trust. Now, with the goal of marking the 10-year milestone, we aim to raise £10,000 in 2024.

A dynamic line-up of activities has been scheduled throughout the year covering an impressive 582 miles. Scheduled events for the year so far include:

  • 3rd March – 5 staff members running Cambridge Half Marathon

  • 23rd March – 11 staff members climbing Snowdon

  • 26th May – 6 staff members cycling Ride London-Essex

  • 25th July – PCS Legal Annual Charity Golf Day

  • 1st September – 7  staff members running London Half Marathon

Stuart Forsdike expressed his commitment to the cause, stating, “Our partnership with The Papworth Trust has been a source of inspiration for our team at PCS Legal. Witnessing the tangible impact our contributions make in the lives of those supported by the trust is truly rewarding. We are eager to surpass our fundraising goals in 2024 and contribute towards the construction of an Independent Living Unit at the Basildon Centre, promoting independence for disabled individuals.”

The Papworth Trust focuses on empowering adults with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and profound and complex needs to live independently. The organisation’s mission revolves around providing disabled individuals with equality, choice, and independence.

We regularly visit the Basildon centre, witnessing first-hand the transformative impact of their contributions. The £10,000 fundraising target will significantly contribute to the construction of an Independent Living Unit, facilitating the learning and development of essential life skills for the centre’s customers.

Jo Revitt, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Papworth Trust said: “The Trust are enormously grateful, not only for what PCS Legal has done over the last nine years to support us, but for the huge commitment that they are making during 2024. Our staff, customers and their families are looking forward to joining in the quiz nights that are being hosted this year, as well as cheering the runners and cyclists along the various half marathon and cycling routes they are taking. This support is vital to ensure that we can continue to enable the disabled people that we support to have equality, choice and independence in their lives”.

As we embark on this charitable journey, the firm extends gratitude to all supporters and encourages continued collaboration to achieve the £10,000 goal.
